World Championship Sand Sculpture at Harrison Lake

We normally go to beach to get some freshness to our mind and soul. Similarly the families come to beaches to enjoy picnics, fishing, shelling, water sports etc. The beaches across the world have different types of sand from grey to black to pearl white to red and the visitors enjoy the authentic flavor of that particular region. Different beaches in the world give different experiences. Sand castles are generally made by children just for fun. Sand art is the practice of modeling sand into an artistic form, such as a sand sculpture, sand painting etc. There are sand sculpture contests for adults that involve large constructions in some beaches. In this line Sand Sculpture Competition called World Championship Sand Sculptures was held at Harrison Lake in Canada, where hundreds of artists participated to exhibit their talent. Think Different, Use Pencil Tips not for Drawing

If a carpenter turns to be an artist one can imagine the results. If you are not sure, look at the pics below. It was Dalton Ghetti, a Brazilian, who got inspired, when he was a young student, with the possibility of crafts from pencils. He has been making this tiny graphite works for the past 25 years. It was initially the pencil on which he was carving different shapes. Later it was an eureka moment when he realized that he can do wonders with the pencil tips. A wonderful ability is worth always appreciating. The highlight of his work is a sculpture of the singer Elvis Presley carved out of a single pencil.

We have come across many stunt loving personalities who scale high risers and pretty tall structures. While trekking is an adventure for some, it’s hard to believe what Eskil Ronningsbakken after scaling the peaks of mountains. Yes! He goes not alone but with a bicycle and various other props like chair, rope, fake gun, ladder, etc., to unwind by dangerously balancing which people like us wouldn’t dare to dream off.

A glimpse of a few pictures below is sufficient to give you a spine chilling experience. These the photographed while he was on a rampage between two cliffs at 10,000 feet high at Norway. Enjoy!!!

One does not know where the talent lies. Since 1990s an artist has been moving around creating wonders just with pieces of chalk. We are aware and used to seeing two dimensional figures right from our childhood that are easy to draw. But here are the pictures which give you a typical three dimensional experience.

Yes! This amazing art was done by a genius Iman Maleki, an Iranian painter.

Iman Maleki, is a natural painter born on 1976 in Tehran. This born talent, who had special passion for paintings right from his childhood, started to learn at the age of 15 from his only teacher, Morteza Katouzian, a realist painter from Iran.

Iman graduated in Graphic Design from the Art University of Tehran. After participating in various exhibitions like The Group Exhibition of KARA Studio Painters at SABZ painters at SABZ Gallery in 1998, The Exhibition of Realist painters of Iran at Tehran Contemporary Museum of Art in 1999 etc., he established ARA Painting Studio in 2001 where he began to teach painting, considering classical and traditional values.

Iman also received the William Bouguereau award and the Chairman’s Choice award in the 2nd international ARC salon competition. Hats off to his incredible art.

Wah! Taj!

Taj Mahal, one of the ‘Seven Wonders’ of the World is the ‘Symbol of Eternal Love’. Located on the banks of river Yamuna in Agra, India, this beautiful monument was constructed by the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, a Muslim Persian princess. It took 22 years to construct this architectural wonder (i.e.,) the construction began in 1631 and ended in 1653. Around 20,000 people were deployed to work on it which spread over 42 acres of land. The material was brought in from all over India and central Asia and it took a fleet of 1000 elephants to transport it to the site. The outstanding monument was designed by the Iranian architect Ustad Isa. “Taj Mahal” means the ‘Crown Palace’.

This architectural masterpiece was built with white marble using precious gemstones. The domb is made of white marble, but the tomb is set against the plain across the river. Therefore, the reflection of colours changes the view of Taj Mahal at different times and different seasons. While Taj appears pinkish in the morning, it is milky white in the evening and sparkles like a jewel when the moon shines. It is said that these changes depict the different moods of woman.

Different people view Taj in different ways. But unless one can understand the depth of love behind this exquisite monument, Taj is just one more beautiful building made out of marble.
