Dhoni-Sakshi Singh Rawat Engaged; Marriage Today

The most eligible bachelor of India, Indian National Cricket Team Captain ‘Mahendra Singh Dhoni’ is no more a bachelor, as the 29-year-old today tied a knot a with his long-time school friend Sakshi Singh Rawat (23 yrs) at 8:16pm in Vishrant Resort, 20km away from Dehradun which includes only family members, relatives, cricketers, Bollywood celebrities. Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Suresh Raina, RP Singh, Shashank Manohar BCCI President and Dhoni’s friend-Bollywood actor John Abraham also was present at the wedding ceremony. Dhoni and Sakshi are going to host a big reception after the marriage for their friends on 7th July which is also Dhoni’s birthday.

Many Bollywood stars congratulated the couple on Twitter. Here are some of the tweets- Bips tweeted that ‘Wishing mahi and sakshi a very happy life together forever:)sad that I cnt be there!’, Shilpa Setty posted a tweet saying that ‘Congratulations in order to Mahi and Sakshi, wishing them all the happiness and marital bliss forever..’ and Asha Bhosle tweeted ‘Heard news that Dhoni got engaged. Best wishes to him. Also wondering what would happen if Germany took up cricket’. Yuvraj Singh also congratulated the couple in his tweet ‘Got to know Mahi is getting married! Congratulations Dhoni and Sakshi hope you have a great life together god bless!!’

Dhoni and Sakshi are basically from Uttaranchal and are said to be school friends at DAV, Shamily in Ranchi. Sakshi is a Hotel Management Graduate from Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Aurangabad and is presently working with Taj Bengal, Kolkata. They were engaged last night at Hotel Bhagirath in Dehradun and the news about it was revealed only after the engagement got over. Both of them met for the first time in Bipasha Basu’s house in Mumbai on the occasion of celebrating Bipasha’s ‘Race’ movie release. Their families were known to each other from quite a long time as their fathers worked at MECON, Ranchi.
