The Buddha Statue, situated in the middle of Hussain Sagar Lake, is one of the tallest statues of Buddha in Asia. The statue is 18 meters high and weighs 350 tons. This elegant sculpture was carved from single white granite and stands on the Rock of Gibraltar.
Hussain Sagar Lake is the cultural link between the twin cities, Hyderabad and Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh, India. While one side of this lake is surrounded with many attractions like the Lumbini Park, the Hyderabad Boat Club and NTR memorial, on the other side is the wide Tank Bund road, the interlink of twin cities with beautiful lawns and statues of many famous personalities of the State. The gigantic Buddha statue amidst the waters of Hussain Sagar is the main attraction for all tourists who visit Hyderabad, the city of pearls.
