Study Shows The Possibility For Preventing Skin Cancers

For the development of cancers in the human body an external source is always present. A skin cancer in the human body is also developed by exposure of the skin too long for sun light and the ultraviolet radiation causes for development of skin cancer. Some people are more prone for the development of skin cancer that means they are more sensitive to the ultraviolet radiation although all people may likely to develop if the radiation is prolonged. This exposure of the sunlight results in gene mutation of the skin cells and promotes tumor growth. Nutritional supplements like Vitamin C and Vitamin D help to reduce the risk for the development of the skin cancer.

The Journal of Biological Chemistry published the results of a new research study how the sunlight stimulate the genes of the skin cells to become cancerous. According to their study a protein termed as Protein Kinase C (PKC) normally protects the skin cells from damage and activates for revival of the damaged cells. When the exposure is too much and the damage is heavy the protein kinase C fails to activate resulting in the formation of cancer.

The identification of the protein is very important in controlling the development of skin cancer to look for a suitable drug that can revive the action of the protein back, to prevent the damage of the skin cells.
