I believe what they do is split the stems (they have to be long of course) and put each part (a 5 or 6 way split would be ideal) into heavily coloured water.

Each part of the stem feeds a different part – much like celery.

Try it, it’s funky!

I doubt it’s photo-shopped, but I agree with Amanda. That’s how they normally do it. As for the last picture, it looks like they just stuck the roses in the bushes because usually roses are peeking out from the bushes. Not standing straight up.

A beautiful show. However, no blue color genes work with roses, so there has to be some dye used for that color. Have never seen such as this but will forward to my many rose friends.

These are beautiful no matter how they were done. They put a peaceful moment in my day. For that I thank you heartily. May that peace fall upon all who see these flowers.

They inject the color into the base of the stems. I think you can get these from a holland based shop on the web

This is heinous.

These could have very easily been photoshopped, thought i know it is possible to do. I’ve done similar things to pictures ive taken of flowers.

There’s no anti aliase fringes, feathering or colour bleeding within the water droplets, I doubt these are photoshopped. It is possable to split part of the stem away from the still living plant and have it accept dye with out compleatly cutting the stem. Then again genetic engineering could be used to introduce a blue gene (but that would cost millions) or they could just be silk. Which ever way, they are works of art, there’s no doubt in my mind about that.

Here is a link to the actual pictures and story behind these roses.

They are REAL and they are indeed created by injecting color into the stems.

Mairi, the blue moon rose is actually more violet than baby blue, a true blue rose is sadly still not possible…

we have made fluorescent bunny rabbits and frogs, seedless fruit. I made ecoli that glow in the dark for a highschool science class, why not manipulate roses with genetics.

hey
these roses are done in a special growing sytem… my boyfriend i have bulit one and we are slowly making the roses work lik the netherlands as u can see how they have them up above…
the are roughly 9 to 10 a stem in hollen… u can buy online but they wouldnt last froim there…

Reezen said,

These roses are colored by splitting the stem and putting each split part into separate colored water… The rose drinks the water and there you have it, multi colored roses.
