10,000 Hotmail Accounts Hacked in Phishing Scam

As we are all aware of emails being hacked illegally through a phishing scam done by fraudsters. Phishing is a scam in which fraudsters get hold of personal details (passwords, credit card information, house addresses etc..) on a fake web page or email form which will be sent out under the pretense of trustable sources such as Banks, Defense and IT departments etc..

Microsoft Corporation stated that some of the passwords belonging to Hotmail E-Mail service have been disclosed on the Internet. But they did not mention the number of accounts affected. Later on, some reports revealed that passwords to over 10,000 accounts were disclosed.

The company added that all the passwords from the existing website have been removed and have blocked access to all those affected accounts to reclaim them as soon as possible.
