Sony develops a new video recording camera, introducing a new 3D technology with which you can capture 3D image using a single lens at a rate of 240fps.
It is equipped with an innovative optical half-mirror system, which allows the recording of both left and right images simultaneously through a single lens to provide natural-looking high-quality images. The images appear in 2D standard, even if not viewed through specialized glasses. It eliminates the need for lens synchronization, which easily can handle the control of 3D zoom and focus functions.
The new camera by Sony realizes high quality capture of 3D content which helps in the capturing of fast-moving pictures like sports. However, the new system is set to be displayed in a prototype form at the forthcoming CEATEC Japan 2009 exhibition.
