Athens, Greece Goes 3D in Google Earth

Athens, the largest and capital city of Greece is very well known for hosting of Olympics and is the host city for first ever modern-day Olympic Games held in the year 1896. It holds the fame for being one of the world’s oldest cities have recorded a history of 3,400 years.

As the Winter Olympic Games 2010 are coming to an end, Google added a detailed 3D view of Athens recently in Google Earth revealing its historicity of first Olympic hosting city. The Athens have last hosted the Summer Olympics in 2004, which is second Olympics host in the city after 108 years since 1896. Focusing on all this, Google have put up a detailed 3D view of the entire city including thousands of buildings, Athens Olympic Stadium, a constructed sports complex for Summer Olympics 2004, Archaeological Museum where you will find Antikythera mechanism and some fun places like Parthenon and Herodeion.

It’s good to have 3D views of Historic places like this, thanks to Google.
