Hitachi Unveils 2TB SimpleDrive External Hard Disk

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has introduced SimpleDrive desktop external hard drive with a heavy storage of up to 2TB which has 7,200 RPM.

It is a vertical drive protected in anodized aluminum to keep cool and consumes less space on your desk. This drive is evidently 25percent faster than its precursor and works on both PCs and Macs and comes with Turbo USB 2.0 interface. It even offers a Hitachi’s Fabrik backup software that automatically copies selected files from host machine.

The Simple Drive has lots of storage space and is to be sold at a price of $250. The Simple Drive is also offered in two other versions i.e., 500GB and 1TB for $100 and $130 respectively.

The company also is offering Simple Tech Pro Drives up to 2TB of storage capacity which comes with USB 2.0,eSATA connectivity, Firewire 400 and Firewire 800. The 2TB Simple Tech Pro drive is available at a price of $299.99 and the other capacity Pro drives 500GB and 1TB are available for $120, $170.

The SimpleTech Duo Pro Drive i.e., the dual-drive equivalent that can be set up for RAID0 or RAID1 and the Hitachi Internal Hard Drive Kit, has same features as that of Pro Drive and arrives in storage capacities 1TB, 2TB and 4TB at $200, $300 and $500.
