Nokia launches its new Nokia 7705 Twist messaging mobile which is a combined product of Nokia and Verizon. The mobile has a unique square shape with 2.4-inch and 240 x 320 pixel resolution QVGA screen, which swivels open to reveal a full QWERTY keypad.
The Nokia 7705 exactly square measures 2.7 x 2.7 x 0.59 inches (69 x 69 mm) when closed and weighs 98 grams (3.44 ounces). This mobile is a CDMA / EVDO 800 / 1900 Mhz device, rather than a GSM / UMTS one, so it does not work in Europe. Coming to the multimedia features the mobile has a 3MP camera on the back with auto focus and flash, music player. It supports BREW applications and has Bluetooth connectivity and an expandable microSD memory slot.
It has a small 860 mAh battery providing the phone a 4.5 hour talk time and a standby time up to 13 days. It even includes a 2.5mm audio socket. The phone shortcut keys allows fast access to messaging, web browsing, V-CAST Music with Rhapsody, voice commands, 3.0 MP camera and speakerphone options. It also includes a Contact Light Ring placed in the right lower corner which identifies, specifies any message or call incoming from the contact list.
The other specifications of Nokia 7705 include self-timer which has a limit up to 10 seconds. It produces a shutter sound in three ways: shutter, Say ‘Cheese’ and Ready! 1,2,3 when capturing a photo. It facilitates video capturing and playback, a built-in mirror, HTML browser, color effects (normal, antique, black & white, negative) and two modes of camera capture which are landscape and portrait.
The Nokia 7705 will be available in two colors namely black and purple. The handsets will be available in Verizon stores from 21 September tagging a price of $99.9 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
