Nokia is coming up with another handset from its N series. The new handset tagged ‘Nokia N8’ is all set to sale from 24th of August this year and people of Germany are provided with the facility of pre-ordering the device on Amazon Germany for €470 ($590).
The N8 boasts mesmerizing features like 3.5-inch Capacitive touch screen supporting pinch to zoom, has a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels with 16:9 aspect ratio, measures 113.5 x 59 x 12.9 mm and weighs 135gms. It has a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, Xenon flash, Autofocus, 2x zoom for still images and 3x zoom for capturing video, shoots 720pixels HD video and is offered a secondary VGA camera for video calls. The handset runs on Symbian 3 operating system and has support for Java MIDP 2.1, Flash Lite 4.0, HTML 4.1, OMA DM 1.2, OMA Client provisioning 1.1. It sports web browsing with touch control, has TCP/IP support, some markup languages, video streaming, integrated GPS, A-GPS receivers, Wi-Fi positioning, Ovi Maps with free pedestrian and car navigation.
The connectivity options of the phone include Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI, micro USB connector and charging and 2mm charging connector. The device uses touch UI and accelerometer to play games, supports Java games and enables 3D graphics. The other features of the phone include FM Radio, FM transmitter, calculator, clock, calendar, detailed contact information, notes, to do list, music player, messaging, WebTV, photo and video editor, Mail, Chat, Ovi Store, Nokia Ovi Suite and Nokia Ovi Player and internet. The internal memory of the phone is 16GB can be expanded upto 32GB wit the help of a microSD card slot provided.
The BL-4D 1200 mAh Li-ion battery used in the phone provides a talktime of 720 mins for GSM, 350mins for WCDMA, standby time of nearly 400 hrs for both type of networks, video recording time of 3hrs 20mins and video playback time of 6hrs. The handset will be available in Anodized aluminium casing in five different colors namely Orange, Blue, Dark grey, Green and Silver white.
However the official price of Nokia N8 is €370 ($465) but on pre-ordering it seems to be high.
