Sachin Tendulkar joins Twitter

Here is a great news for all the fans of Sachin Tendulkar as he is now available to all of us in Twitter as sachin_rt. The most awaited and talked about twitterer finally joined twitter late Tuesday when most of the Indians were sleeping and within twelve hours of his joining he gained more than 20,000 followers. The first tweet he posted is “Finally the original SRT is on twitter n the first thing I’d like to do is wish my colleagues the best in the windies.”

At first many of the twitterers had not believed that it was him on twitter as a lot of fake accounts have been registered on his name and they thought that it may be one among them. But, it was confirmed by one of his teammates, Zaheer Khan who wrote “Yes! Its true Sachin Tendulkar is on Twitter.” on his own account which finally made them to believe that it was the original SRT joined twitter. Sachin tweeted to Zaheer that “I’m finally on Twitter buddy, good luck for the tournament. Wish all the guys from me.”

Photos, updates and shout-outs to his friends including Vinod Chopra and photographer Atul Kasbekar are the tweets which the master posted in his account following his first tweet. Some of his Twitpics include sleepy Sachin lying on the bed. In a tweet posted he congratulated second time daddy, Virender Sehwag as he became father to a baby boy, he wrote “Woke up to the good news that Sehwag has become father of another baby boy. I wish the baby all the happiness and above all, good health in life.”

After knowing that the God is on twitter his fans responded heavily, paid him tribute and wished he will recover soon. Amazed at this great and speedy increment of followers Sachin wrote “Can’t believe the response I got in such a short time. Had a wonderful dinner with my close friends tonight. The evening was superb. Goodnight.” With his joining of twitter his children got very happy and on this he wrote “My kids r happy that I m finally on Twitter. They hv been tryin get me 2 join twitter or facebook for ages. I m still getting the hang of it.” Revealing about his finger injury he tweeted “Got stitches removed and the Dr feels it will take some more time to recover. Will keep you posted on this.”

Celebrity Shilpa Shetty welcomed Sachin with a tweet “Finally on twitter, The God of cricket himself. A big welcome shout for SACHIN TENDULKAR himself @sachin_rt spread the word”. Twitter is now having a lot of sports stars from all around the world as Sachin joins champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal etc.

This is really a great news for all his fans who can now share all their feelings with him directly by posting their tweets and would indeed be thrilled of interacting with their favorite star. Hope you all enjoy tweeting the God of Cricket.

Sachin besides his cricketing life is good, kind and helpful in nature and has huge concern for people around him in the society which we can find out from his latest tweets “I m involved with ‘Sachin’s crusade against cancer’, helping Dr Jagannath raise funds for children with cancer. Hope we get a good response.” and “Tryin 2 raise money for a corpus,so kids with cancer who can’t afford treatment can b helped by giving them medicines,paying for surgery etc.”
