The stream of Blu-ray players is being increased day by day rather than DVD and cd players. Taking this into consideration Sharp introduced new AQUOS DX2 series TVs which varies from DX series with integrated Blu-ray burner for video recording.
It produces High Definition (HD) resolution upto 1080p and comes in different sizes ranging from 26-inch to 52-inch in steps of 26, 32, 40, 46, 52 inches, where 26, 32-inch models has maximum resolution of 768p(1366 x 768) with 7000:1 dynamic ratio and two HDMI inputs, while the models from 40-52 inch have high definition resolution upto 1080p (Full HD) that is 1920 x 1080 with a dynamic contrast ratio of 15000:1, along with 3 HDMI inputs.
All the new models of Sharp AQUOS DX2 HDTVs support direct BD-Live download content from the internet via Ethernet connection. Two tuners and a digital terrestrial TV help users to record content on Blu-ray Disc dual layer and can record HD video upto 30 hours to discs with 50 GB capacity. The recordings can be done in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format and transcoded with the Blu-ray disc. It is also provided with built-in light sensor to adjust brightness levels depending on completely enveloping light.
The 26, 32, 40-inch models are available in 3 color options white, red and black whereas the 46, 52-inch models skip the red color and available only in white and black color options.
The Sharp DX2 AQUOS is going to be released on September 10th in Japan. The selling prices depend on the size of the TV, 52-inch comes at a price of $5,048, 46-inch @ $3,993, 40-inch @ $2,943, 32-inch @ $2,000 and 26-inch @t $1,787.
