Sony Launches Vaio P-Series Netbooks

Sony introduces Vaio P, a new updated version of already launched Vaio P includes various new features and colors than that the basic model.The Vaio P basic model sports an Intel SCH US15W chipset offering 8-inch Monitor with a resolution of 1600 x 768, an Atom Z530(1.60 GHz) or Z560(2.13GHz) processor with 64GB SSD, 2GB RAM, webcam, Bletooth and memory card reader. Adding to this the new one can be configured with 64/ 128/ 256GB SSD options, Z530/ Z550/ Z560 processors, runs Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit edition operating system, WiMax, Bluetooth, a 0.31Mpix camera, WiFi ABGN and weighs 619gms. It also supports PS3 Remote Play allowing you access to your PS3 contents and even recorded TV programs.

It also adds the touchpad feature and buttons on both sides of the LCD so that you can hold the device in your hands and surf using your thumbs. Another new feature is the accelerometer i.e., a motion sensor used to rotate the screen image when you rotate the device to 90 degrees. It even features a digital compass that can be used with geo-location and navigation services. The battery life has also been increased from 3.5 hours to 5.5 hours which is done with the usage of power efficient SSD instead of a hard disk drive.

The new updated version of Sony Vaio P will be available in Japan from May 22 at a price of ¥100,000 approx. 1,080$.
