Last year, after instruments of an Indian probe discovered trace amounts of water on the surface of the Moon and in some craters, scientists have finally believed that the Moon is not dry but contains some water in it and disproved the belief of Moon being only a dry and rocky surface. Along with the discoveries of the Indian probe, NASA satellite have found huge deposits of ice deposits in some craters of the lunar south pole and huge amounts of water at the north pole. As an addition to this, researchers now are saying that water is found in three flavors.
These three flavors were each discovered using different satellites used. Out of the three flavors the first was by the Miniature Synthetic Aperture Radar (Mini-SAR) which found 40 small craters (a bowl shaped depression) each containing frozen water with a size of 2-15km in diameter at a depth of at least 6.6 feet on the lunar surface. The second was found in another crater by the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) by slamming into the moon. The third was by the Mineralogy Mapper (M3) which found chemical bond between Hydrogen and Oxygen by detecting wavelengths of light that reflected off the surface.
With all these discoveries being done day by day scientists will thereby be left with a question as to whether life on the moon is possible or not?
