I carve as well and to answer the person who said you use preservatives for the color and such, not true! Ive never heard of that before. All carvings are totally edible and can definitely be eatin. I always take pictures after I’m done and then my family eats them. A lot of people say that is too pretty to eat and I tell them I’d rather it be eatin than wasted.

They must do something to preserve the color and texture thus making the thing inedible so yeah, there is the waste. But considering the vastness of our waste on a non-art level this must be minor in comparison when you think of say, paper products and packaging and so on. So, yeah, wasteful but beautiful extraordinary still.

Goodness sakes, the people who carve these fruits want them to be eaten, I guess I would be the one to start eating them, LOL, thats like buying one of those 1,400 dollar cakes for your wedding and not eating it, that would be kinda dumb, so, if I were to carve a peice of fruit, I would want it to be eaten, and I know the people who carved these probably did not let them rott, goodness sakes, LOL, lets all buy some fruit and see if we can make them as pretty as these people have, and then we are going to eat them, who’s with me on this one, LOL
